Nile cruises? True love?!? EGYPT? All this and more in this book about a joint field trip taken by a class from an American all-boys school and a British all-girls boarding school. Written by Tyne O’Connell, the book is short read, and great for readers of high school age. The story, as the title suggests, is about a convoluted love story on a Nile cruise. Sam, Shalah, Octavia, and Rosie all collide in this charming story about lies, love, and Egypt. The strongest elements of the story are those that show the author’s love of Egypt and thankfully they make up most of the book. Furthermore, the book is frequently funny. Characters are mostly likeable, and have clear motivations and some depth. I would recommend this if you want a book that is simply fun, and nothing more. Readers looking for romance with a little more depth would likely be better served by other books like the Melanie Cellier’s Four Kingdoms series or Jane Austen novels like Pride and Prejudice, while if all you’re looking for is a pleasant way to waste an afternoon this book is for you.
