I finished Wind and Truth (Stormlight 5). To be honest, pretty disappointed. Did not need the gay interspecies romance or care about the plot line that it left mostly unresolved. That said, Adolin and Yanagawn had a good plot line, and Dalinar tied together the tapestry quite nicely.
Unlike when I finished Rythm of War, I no longer feel that there are questions left unanswered that I care to unmask the truth of. There are certainly questions remaining, but they’re not particularly interesting, and I have no doubt that the characters, after an extreme test of endurance, will figure it out in books 6-10 when they come out sometime around 2045.
When Vitruvius said, “I know that sounds like a cat poster, but it’s true,” it was not a profound statement. Even so, I find myself referencing it every so often, because, if there’s one thing that the Stormlight Archive gets right, it’s that sometimes difficult truths sound tacky.
Also, it’s a really funny line.
