Sometimes a story’s told to you
And you choose to believe
But there are people out there whose
Goal is to you deceive
They tell you they adapt a book
They say it was in print
They tell you about their ex-wife
And you’ve not got a hint
The footnotes tell a story that
Sounds like it could be true
But then you check the internet
And don’t know what to do
There never was a Florin, no
There was no Guilder too
And far be it for me to trust
Those feats of derring-do
The dubious geography
In that I should have known
Or claims that it was history
When zoo of death was shown
But sucker that I am for tales
That peek behind the scenes
I blindly trust the fictious tale
Not knowing what it means
Just to be clear the Princess Bride
Was created from scratch
Which looking back at what was said
With truth does seem to match
But even so I feel betrayed
And just a bit in awe
The blended work of tales on tales
Is more than what I saw
