To full describe this final word
I shan’t begin to do
For it comes in so many forms
When shared ‘tween me to you

The kiss upon an infants head
Or subtle words of praise
The stranger standing in the room
Who meets a friendly gaze

The soldier on the battlefield
Who leaps on a grenade
A gift to dear and grieving friends
That’s in a casserole made

But greatest of the noble acts
Twas God come from above
He gave His life that we might live
In perfect saving love
