Remember well the ones you love
For if they take a ride
From freshman drivers you may find
That on that ride they died
I won’t describe the time I’ve had
Or what the day has done
I won’t discuss the lives I saw
As round the lot I spun
But I’ll remark that I have made
A prayer or two today
That if they were put in to words
I’m not sure what they’d say
The simple peace of life well lived
Will e’er preserve my soul
Though there are things I’d like to do
Before I’m in a hole
My time has not yet come to leave
My life God has preserved
But if it were to be that way
I hope that well I’ve served
