Audiobook of cringe romance
I listen as I ride
‘Cause after I get off the bus
I put my book aside
I listen to a new meetcute
On wireless earbuds
Though some don’t even approach good
And some of them are duds
Filled with cliches their plotlines are
Their twists are no surprise
And unlike in a tragedy
Concluding no one dies
But even so, I find myself
Returning to those tales
Whose plots are characterized by
Communication fails
Sometimes I smirk and say c’mon
That wouldn’t e’er happen
And sometimes sadly authors can’t
Characterize the men
But when the plot is done just right
And characters ring true
There’s something in those happy ends
Most other books don’t do
The books aren’t great, but can be good
Akin to comfort food
Romance is nice and I’d say they
Foster a happy mood
So you can keep your science-fic
With teleporter ray
Biography is nice and all
And mysteries can be a ball
But I’ll still read, while standing tall
