The pocket in my shirt’s left breast
Is good for holding pens
But looking at the past few weeks
I see disturbing trends
I put my metro card in there
While I’m on my commute
And put it back in my wallet
When I’m done with the route
Some nights I fear that step gets skipped
And in the morning light
I use the second card I store
To keep me from a plight
And while I’m glad to be prepared
When I’ve misplaced my card
In future I still hope to be
A little more on guard
‘Cause taking things out of pockets
Really can’t be that hard
