That mystery of human life
That all men have a soul
No matter what’s his place in life
Be bourgeois or be prole
That mystery of human life
Informs us when we act
It helps us to describe our thoughts
With charity and tact
That mystery of human life
Says thoughts of others count
And when we act and speak and live
We should for them account
That mystery of human life
Can’t stand a narcissist
Who says that other’s feeling count
About as much as mist
The great challenge of human life
Is walking with an eye
Toward keeping other’s lives in view
And it is worth a try
