Atop the elms near Purley place
A house sits in a tree
It’s painted green so snooping eyes
Cannot its structure see

The good Lieutenant Drummond Smith
Resides in that strange place
The new perspective that it brings
Gives him a change of pace

And doubting Rupert was flummoxed
When he could finally see
The officer had never lied
He did live in a tree
