These poems were composed to advertise LU Meet lunches that happened after Convo. Why I started them, I’m not sure, but here they all are in all their glory (mostly because I’m not willing to go back to date and separate them all).

0:

Roses are red
Violets are blue
I’m post-convo rotting
How about you?

But where are the meeters?
Show us the way!
Look for us eaters
By the rot PDA

1:

Far away, near the PDA
A group will sit, after convo today

Many will be there, where will you be?
Be at post-convo rotting, as a favor to me

2:

Lo and behold
Under rot’s top floor

Meeting near the private dining area
Extremely friendly people
Eat after Convo
To not go is to be polygon

3:

It seems to me fine
To come out and dine
In the time after convocation

In the basement we stay
Near the rot PDA
In the time after convocation

You’ll join us we hope
Don’t give us the nope
In the time after convocation

4:

The Reber Thomas dining hall
We’ve met the there in the Spring and Fall
Just right after Convo time
This line I can’t find a rhyme
Can you join us? Yes, you may!
We’re sitting next to the PDA

5:

It’s the weekend of CFAW
So the food won’t be raw
But the lines, they may just take days

Come down to the rot
After convos time slot
Don’t go to DeMoss, it’s a maze

Say hi to the Meeters
We are LU eaters
Down next to the rot PDA

6:

I surely won’t be there, I’m at a debate
But that’s no excuse, for you to be late
Just after Convo, by the rot PDA
Attendance is mandatory, check the Liberty Way
Meeters grab lunch, and in fellowship dine
Make your way quickly, from the center of Vine

7:

Once there were LU Meeters
Post Convo they were LU Eaters
In the rot they stay
Near the ole PDA
If you were there twould be even greater

8:

Don’t you frown, come on down, just right after convo
Make your way, don’t delay, just right after convo
To the rot, cold or hot, just right after convo
PDA, near we stay, just right after convo
LU Meet, there we eat, just right after convo

9:

Good friends heed my Good Friday plee
Come down to the LS of D
For there we will eat
The whole LU Meet
And there also I want you to be

10:

Though there is rain
It isn’t a pain
To just give a thought
To the post Convo rot
We could be many
With your company
So join us today
Near the rot’s PDA

11:

Great hordes of highschoolers
They come now like bruisers
To pillage and steal
Or at least get a meal
Filling halls of the rot in a blur
But still we will meet
For tis good to eat
Some food as a post Convo rotter

12:

Today please do be
At the new LSD
Where we meet
To eat
After Convo

For there we will dine
Once we’re all through the line
Be hasty
Pray thee
After Convo

Near rot PDA
That is where we stay
A good time
Sublime
After Convo

13:

Please join us to eat
After Convo we meet
This wonderful Friday
By the rot PDA
We’ll chomp and we’ll bite
But we’ll laugh and not fight
We won’t make a fuss
If you’ll only join us

14:

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth
And on that earth happened many things of great worth
But not be forgotten
Is a place where food was rotten
For there you could find the meeters
Though they soon turned LU eaters
And the time that they met
Was hard to forget
After Convocation it was
Oh that post-Convo buzz
And there they still stay
So come down right away!
Right next to the ole PDA!

15:

After the collective’s done
Playing their set in vine
I won’t have any wish but one
As I stand in the exit line

Please join us in the fabled rot
Where the food is plentiful
The company’ll disappoint you not
Though the eatings are rather dull

LU Meet will share a meal
You may join us as you may
And if you want to find us
We’re down by the PDA

16:

Though Camp Rot be put away
And trivia’s silent in PDA
Still we will gather
Still we will meet
For after just convo
We still need to eat!

And travel to the LSD
Shan’t be far for one as thee
So we must gather
So we must eat
The time’s after convo
It’s time to grab meat

Finding friends deep in the depths
Down the stairs is where to traipse
For there we gather
And there do we greet
In the time after convo
Our friends, LU Meet

And just to make it very clear
Exactly where our seats are near
We always gather
And we always meet
Soon after convo
In rot PDA, it sure is a treat!

17:

It’s the very last convo of this year’s grand streak
And all of you’ve loved the poems each week
So it’s time to remember the age-old tradition
And gather soon rotside after convocation

And finding a way to end the year well
Dondi will work a rhetorical spell
Wending together nouns and adverbs
His speech and the worship’ll pass by in two blurs

But after that time which seemeth so short
Only one action with good sense doth comport
And that is to journey out to the Southwest
Joining the lunch friends that you know best

LU Meet can’t be beat for a post-convo meal
And if you’ve got a mealplan the price is a steal
You’ve been there before on many occasion
But in case you’ve forgotten for some complex reason

Where we go feasting is tested and true
You know it for cookies, ice cream, and cold brew
It stands gleaming brightly right next to the shaft
(the Commons Four name at which everyone laughed)

That’s right, you guessed it, the place is the rot
Once you have entered and food you have got
Then travel downstairs to find us if you please
The place where we sit you’ll locate with ease

Head East from the stairs and move on your way
For you’ll find us sitting near the ole’ PDA
Maybe Braedon will be there with his yellow phone
And at most of his puns you’ll do nothing but groan

Or perhaps Jarren will speak on his favorite subjects
Like his incredible hatred of all architects
And Josh may just be there with his many rings
Greek homework, surely, will be in his things

And of doofus Johnathan be not uncouth
He’ll be there in spirit if not in truth
And Nyah and Nate and Michael and Blake
We all will be there right next to the lake

To all of the others whose names I’ve not caught
Have no doubt in your minds that I love you a lot
But unfortunately due to limited space
For not even my name could I find a space

And speaking of me, your poet and friend
I must depart for the poem’s at an end
But fear not, for of me you won’t be lacking
You’ll see me at post-convo rotting!

And Jonathan Sulgrove who started it all
I happen to know him ‘cause he lives on my hall
This club he founded, he started it
He’ll surely be there if only in spirit
