Can you smell that in the air
Rifts are forming, look they tear
Of what could be, what makes a pair
What could be if one could dare
Dreams are seeping through the sky
Substance or not we still will try
To grasp at them, to pull, to ply
Grab hold of them to further fly
Embrace the leap of faith, the jump
Ignore the butterflies and lumps
Sometimes it only takes a bump
To move a hope across the hump
And if the apparitions fade
At least a grand attempt was made
To answer what you thought fate bade
It seems to be the better trade
Tis better to have loved and lost
Then never known that painful cost
