An early morning wake up call
Is not always the play
But when your friend is still in bed
There’s not much he can say
Our morning plans were set in stone
But he slept like a rock
So when the others gathered round
And heard the clock’s tick tock
We asked where he was at the time
Why was he running late
My buddies went off to his house
To go investigate
Respecting others in the house
They didn’t kick the door
And so he slumbered in his bed
Potentially with snores
But once we’d started on our game
He finally arrived
It seems that movement out of bed
He’d finally contrived
(And though I joke the fellas know
I write this out of love
Despite the way we threatened to
Awake him with a shove)
