Four bags with different steps on them
With microwave at hand
I’m bouncing to the stovetop fire
And try to understand

Why ovens need a preheating
Where are the nonstick pans?
What do I do when all is done
For this I didn’t plan

But then the timer rings again
And there’s still work undone
I’m not a chef and freezer meals
Have got me on the run

Now most of it is cooling off
But some is in the heat
I’ll put a lid and pan on top
So warmth does not deplete

So finally I’ve made it through
And dinner is complete
Now here’s hoping I did it right
And fully cooked the meat

I just want to be clear here: I had two bowls that I put the warm food in. On top of one of them, I put the lid for the saucepan that I’d used to heat up the food; on the other bowl I put the actual saucepan (since emptied of food). Why did I do this? The oven was hot, the toaster couldn’t fit the bowl, the microwave was in use, and it seemed more efficient than finding a different lid.

Here’s a helpful graphic I made in MS Paint to hep visualize the choice I made:

Image not actually accurate, the lid was on top of the fried rice and the pan was on top of the chicken and broccoli, image reverses it. Also I live in a 3d dimensional world (I’m not crazy, i’m not crazy, i’m not crazy, let me OUT of this rubber roOm)

I thought it was clever and that it was totally necessary to share. If you disagree, honestly, very justified.

Anyways, the dinner was ok.
