The year has made it to the close
The curtains falls again
Tomorrow brings a different time
But really though, what then
Will life be different after this
Will changes start to take
Will mere rotation alter fate
And repetition break?
I think perhaps this New Year ought
To be a time to go
To make a plan to alter things
Go out and make it so
This year was good, but next year might
If effort is applied
Turn out the better for the work
The blood, sweat, tears supplied
Resolve yourself, go out and work
And muster courage up
So you can see the path ahead
And bravely drink your cup
Be it a bitter painful start
Or soothing balm at last
The only thing I know for sure:
It won’t be like the past
