While walking through a musty maze
I chanced upon a book
That long I thought was gone for good
But now I’d had a look
The ancient texts had tales to tell
Of warriors long past
And stories told on stormy nights
In shadows fire-cast
The battles that they’d fought and lost
The whispers of their sins
The marked loss of noble men
Over the glass of gin
Logistics and their tribute too
And legal proceedings
Their ladies and their titan mounts
And gold armbands and rings
The lives were lived so long ago
Their songs we do not sing
But I returned the book to shelf
To gaze another day
I’ve got some other things to do
I’ll get to it … someday
I cannot recall what book this referred to, but my gut says that while everything included is in the book I’m referring to, the actual book is not exactly what you would expect from what I described.
My inability to recall is quite frustrating, and if you have an idea, please shoot me a text.
