A blanket falls down on the earth
To make obscure our shallow berth
And hide away from all our eyes
The shining lanterns in the sky
It rolls and billows in the air
To keep us from the moon so fair
Refracting all the tall street lights
It aims to take away our sight
The tower is a distant blur
As if it from foundations tore
And even down the street I look
But all my vision has been took
The way is hid, the path denied
I try to take it all in stride
As if I’m walking through a bog
I grasp and grope, stumble through fog
