A thousand delegations
From every tribe and tongue
A thousand generations
Who’ve all the same hymn sung
A thousand saints and martyrs
Who hold the ancient creed
A thousand kings cast down their crowns
And all the Good Book read
A thousand branches grafted
To Israel’s holy tree
A thousand congregations
One church in unity
Two thousand years that body’s stood
To just begin its tale
Ten thousand more it sure will stand
For hell will not prevail
And thousands strong the holy men
Before the throne will kneel
So let not class or race divide
And share the holy meal
