There is no doubt we planned it out
As best as we could do
We wrote the paper yesterday
The presentation too
It was a decent bit of time
We took the whole evening
And by the end of what we’d done
We had a finished thing
And in the morning, once I’d woke
I made is to the class
And got to see if what I’d made
Could then the real test pass
Who needs to practice when you’ve got
A decent set of slides
It’s not as if on this good pitch
My grade for this course rides
And after all it turned out well
If just a little tense
We managed to turn what had
Into a piece of sense
The moral of the story is
To just send it, that’s all
And if that don’t work out for you
Please don’t, my number, call
Not mentioned in the poem but definitely stuck in my mind was my 30 second rant about how poppi was on Shark Tank and how even though we don’t have the financials for the company because it’s privately held “line go up.”
Yes, that was a verbatim quote from my segment. No, I didn’t script it, I adlibbed it because we needed to fill time.
