They rumble down the tracks in chains
With power coursing through
The metal in the middle rail
As speedy they move you
With windows in the tunnels dim
And just a single bridge
They rumble through the underground
And streets shake just a smidge
They get you where you need to go
They fill up awful fast
They seem to be just fast enough
To always you get past
They form the veins and arteries
Of city’s transit route
They move unending back and forth
Along the tracks they shoot
