The daily grind goes on apace
With studies and meetings
But sometimes there’s a time for fun
Amongst the other things

And so while we would go to work
For presentation time
There was another element
For which I make this rhyme

For days I hounded our captain,
About the Montview spot
Where balls and pins and lanes are found,
In library and rot

The first attempt I made would fail
The alley would be closed
And then the time was less than ripe
For bad times I scheduled

But fin’lly on that wonderous day
We met in JFL
To finalize BCCS
And all packages tell

We finished up the planned out work
And studied for a while
I couldn’t get our officer
To go to bowling trial

But after ages of waiting
The glorious time arrived
When we would make our grand debut
For what I had contrived

The bowling alley closed at twelve
And twenty minutes till
We made our way to play the game
And hadn’t started still

By chance, or luck, or God’s design
We got ourselves a lane
I grabbed the ball with my whole hand
And threw it down the plane

I missed, the ball was gutter-bound
The second made its mark
While captain of our team would go
Along with silly lark

I started out the game ok
But when the end we crossed
I found that I would not be crowned
And in fact I had lost

But even so the game was fun
And done before midnight
The whole evening could well be called
A general delight!

Also, our captain had her birthday today, so after we finished the game of bowling, our team left (as we needed to go before midnight) and sang her an impromptu happy birthday in the hallways of Montview.
