I’ve been listening to a lot of older country music and kept hearing about Texarkana. I could not figure out where or what it was. I could figure out Texas and Arkansas makes sense, but I did not compute that Louisiana was in there.

Further research: Texarkana are twin cities by the same name in Texas and Arkansas. They aren’t on the corner with Louisiana, but it’s chill because the name is great.

But it gets better. Texarkana is in the Ark-La-Tex region (or Arklatex), and that region includes the area where Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana meet, which means that the postal code is doing double duty to squeeze states in.

Over one million people live in Arklatex, and the Texarkana metro area has more than 140,000 residents.

The more you know.
