So the ticket office, fun story:

So, first of all, the design for the ticket office website is terrible. More than one person (read: not just me) has been so unable to navigate it that they’ve assumed that it simply doesn’t work sometimes.

Now, the actual story: I have a season ticket for the theater1 and so whenever I get show tickets for a group I need to make two orders, one for my season ticket, and the other for everyone else who I pay for in cash. Today, I tried to do both at the same time, and while my ticket voucher exchange went through, the other tickets that were in my cart broke down2 and I couldn’t get the transaction through. Immediately after, I try to get the same tickets, and they’re reserved. Assuming that they might be locked on my end because they get reserved if they’re put in a cart, I call the ticket office. The ticket office is having technical difficulties and can’t take my call. I call the ticket office again. The ticket office says the seats I want are unavailable. Sad. I wait fifteen minutes; the seats are once again available. Happy!

Footnotes

  1. Honestly, I should get more. If I played my cards right, I could be the designated ticket guy for a friend group and then make a profit every time I had them reimburse me for the individual ticket price. Hmmm.

  2. If I had a nickel for every time an online storefront broke on me in the last two days, I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
