The sand we see was gravel once
Before that it was stone
And some would say afore that point
Twas molten and alone

The water that you’re drinking now
Was feed for dinosaurs
And air that cycles through your lungs
Once pterodactyls soared

The sun that burns in yonder sky
Was idle gas afloat
In voids no man could ever sail
Regardless of his boat

And yet more ancient than the dust
Round light consuming tears
Are eyes forever filled with love
Which have done more than stare

The hands that laid foundations for
The galaxies and stars
Are also ones that we will see
That we’ll see bearing scars

And mouth that uttered forth the words
To make from nothing, light
Would also ask forgiveness for
The makers of His plight

The feet that walked in Eden’s fields
Would triumph in a loss
Those feet unburned in furnace fire
Would carry rugged cross

But though it seemed that all was lost
It wouldn’t be the end
Those feet would walk again on earth
In the garden and roads bend
And now the ancient of the days
Has gone to heav’n ascend
