Evil shatters good and true
Destroys that which is right
Deplores the beautiful and great
Unfairly wars and fights
A darkness comes, the sun has set
The dusk is at an end
The sea is rising further up
The broken bows can’t bend
The shining breastplates tarnish lost
Fair-forged swords lie dull
Nobility has duty shunned
Embracing shadow’s pull
Our comfort lies in tattered rags
They’re folded on a stone
Where all expected something more
Where all expected bone
The doom is cast upon us all
But underneath the mark
A mystery that sun will rise
And overcome the dark
But when will good things come about
What time will goodness take?
I wish but cannot tell you when
The dawn will final break
The day when Light shall overwhelm
The brightness of the sun
That day is shrouded even now
But with it all is done
No sorrow evermore shall pass
Across a hooded brow
No thing shall sear across a face
That goodness won’t allow
I pray that day shall haste to us
When full we celebrate
In perfect freedom and in love
Until it though, I wait
