In a Dublin cafe by the sea
Is a girl who is waiting for me
Though she don’t know it yet
Its on her my heart’s set
Soon as it learns geography
This poem is funny, not because I’ve actually set my heart on an Irish lass, but because I was deeply confident that Dublin was land-locked, hence the punchline of the poem, which actually doesn’t make any sense now that I’ve checked a map.

…
I was, of course, told all of this by a friend who will be out of the country for good seven days after the time of writing.
