My books are living in a box
My backpack is there too
For best laid plans to get them back
Saw chaos then ensue
Returning from the tailgate I
Was almost to the bag
Until a person spotted me
Called out, and slowed to lag
Then I was speaking with a friend
About a menswear store
While others went to go play cards
And then I took that door
Icebreakers were short-lived but
They caused a dab of fun
Inspiring a better plan
Before the joy was done
Then Hunger games distracted me
As notecards took their tier
And though I wasn’t at the top
In A I did appear
Then apples to apples switched it up
But still the novel deck
Did not allow me to return
But kept me held in check
The final moment, was a game
Composed of two full rooms
In one there was a president
The other held a boom
Suffice to say that our team won
And president was lost
But getting back my stuff on time
Was how that came at cost
So now I’m sitting here at rest
Without my backpack dear
To crawl in bed and sleep awhile
Until tomorrow’s here
