In honor of the conference, I fixed the twitter bot. And by fixed, I mean I paid $20 for enough X API credits to hopefully last until I’m out of college, and substantially beyond and cleared the spreadsheets deduplicating row which had filled up and caused the bot to stop tweeting in the first place.
I dearly miss when the X API was free, though I do understand why they began charging.
I saw a really funny thread where some bot owner or other was arguing with Grok about whether charging ¢1.5 to post a tweet automatically was censorship or not. (You know it’s a rough day when the bot is making cogent responses and the human on the other end is screaming and crying and unsubscribing from X (especially because the amount they were paying for the subscription was more than they would need to continue posting automatically lol).
