I wear a dozen masks in life
Depending on the group
Sometimes I’m laughing actively
While I’m not in the loop

Sometimes I’m serious or sad
Or think a certain way
While other times I mask my thoughts
And will abstain my say

Sometimes I hide behind a mask
To execute a bit
But careful now, there’s danger there
For how do you end it

There’s others wearing masks as well
They smile when they’re near
But when they walk away from you
Their slander you can’t hear

The metaphors are mixed right now
Some of those just were lies
While others were an honest shift
To be polite for eyes

The truthful changes are your face
The lies are like the mask
One wears expressions naturally
The other take to task
